A Lot or a Little?
What you will—and won't—find in this movie.

Positive Messages
very little
Money can't buy love or happiness. Assumes that everybody wants, or should want, to find true love, and that finding it is the only way to real happiness in life.
-
Positive Role Models
a little
Ferro starts out as a typical rich playboy who enjoys his freedom to date lots of women and doesn't want to be tied down. But his money is self made through his own hard work, and he remains humble, generous, and kind. Diane is still recovering from past trauma and has closed herself off emotionally, but she's smart, has a lot of common sense, and is willing to work hard to achieve her dreams. There's some brief stereotyping of a fat woman as comically unappealing. The supporting cast's range of skin colors provides a variety of positive representations.

Violence & Scariness
some
An attempted mugging shows the victim punching and hitting his assailants with a heavy duffel bag. A man is assaulted in jail. Tweaking nipples over a shirt, simulated thrusting from behind, and punching in self defense are shown. It's implied through flashbacks and talking about it that a woman was raped in the past, but that word is never used.

Sex, Romance & Nudity
some
One scene shows kissing and caressing in bed with implied nudity; no sensitive parts are shown and it's clearly implied afterward that they had sex. Some kissing. A teen and much older man caress and embrace while very drunk. Mention that a man "can't get it up." A pool party has lots of people in scanty bathing suits. Lots of people make sexual advances or flirt heavily with Ferro. Two fully-clothed men put a hand on each other's thighs and squeeze with sexually-suggestive dialogue.

Drinking, Drugs & Smoking
some
Unpleasant characters are frequently seen drinking, including in the daytime, and exhibit drunken behavior. Adults order champagne, wine, and co*cktails on an airplane and in a bar. Wine glasses on the table at dinner. A man says he's impotent and the woman pursuing him shakes a bottle of pills and says "the big V" will take care of it.

Parents Need to Know
Parents need to know that My Secret Billionaire is a romance between middle-aged adults, so teen appeal may be limited, although the dream of romance with a billionaire is pretty universal. Violence includes a few punches; a mugging; a same-sex, jailhouse sexual assault that only shows tweaking nipples over the shirt directly; and a character recovering from trauma that's strongly implied to be rape, although that word is never used. There's a sex scene in bed that implies nudity under covers (no sensitive body parts shown) and has kissing, caressing, and cuddling in bed afterward. A teen and much older man caress and embrace while very drunk. Mention that a man "can't get it up." Two fully-clothed men put a hand on each other's thighs and squeeze with sexually-suggestive dialogue. Strong language includes "f--k," "s--t," and "ass." Adults drink wine and co*cktails occasionally; unpleasant characters drink frequently to excess. One character drinks during the day. A man who says he's impotent is offered "the big V" to fix the problem. The supporting cast is diverse, but some stereotypes about the attractiveness of fat people are played for comedy. What's the Story?
MY SECRET BILLIONAIRE is the story of how self made billionaire Ferro Olivetti (Victor Alfieri) finds love when he sets aside the trappings of wealth. From his deathbed, Ferro's father makes him promise to spend one month with no money, under a different name, because he thinks it's the only way Ferro will find love and happiness. Ferro's not really interested in settling down, but promises he'll do what his dad asks. His very first night alone in Manhattan is spent in jail, but after a series of kind acts from strangers he gets a job and meets Diane (Ione Skye), a smart, down-to-earth real estate agent with the world's worst boss. Diane's not interested in romance, either, but as she and Ferro get to know each other they start to fall in love. Can they overcome all the obstacles and find a way to be together?
