To reset a Maytag dryer, turn it off > unplug it from the wall or flip the breaker > wait 60 seconds > restore power & turn the appliance on.

Maytag dryers boast several features, including a high performance motor, reduced vibration, moisture sensors, wrinkle-prevention option, variable dry for different items and fabrics, and different temperature settings. One thing that Maytag dryers do not have, however, is a reset button.

To remove the code, press pause or cancel button twice and the power button once. If the code is still displayed, unplug the washer or disconnect the power for one minute.

Disconnect the Power

Disconnecting the washer's electricity for three minutes is the simplest way to reset a Maytag washing machine. When the power is cut off, the washing machine's electrical charge can dissipate, allowing it to reset. If the reset doesn't work, unplug the washer once more, this time for ten minutes.

What you can do is REBOOT it by removing power to the dryer - shutting off breaker or unplugging for 5 minutes, then power back on. I'm guessing that the power outage reset the controller board and caused all of the lights to flash.

Touch and hold START to restart the dryer cycle or press POWER to clear the display. During a power outage, the control could display the PF Error Code if there was an unexpected amount of power supply line "noise" that the control detected as an incorrect voltage amount.

Many dryers are equipped with a reset button on the control panel. If the motor won't run, let the dryer cool for about ten minutes. Then push the reset button. If there are no problems with the motor, switches, or electrical system, this should restart the dryer.

NOTE: You may also turn off the sound tones when a feature, setting, or option is touched. Touch and hold the End Beep or Cycle Signal for about three seconds to turn sounds to low, medium, high, or off.
