What happens if you don't answer the door for FedEx? ›

Delivery attempts

If a shipment requires, either an indirect, direct or adult signature, and a delivery attempt is made, but no one is there to sign for the package, the driver will leave a door tag at the recipient's door. If no signature is required, the shipment will be left at the recipient's door.

FedEx Standard Overnight – delivered the next day, before the end of the day. FedEx 2Day AM – delivered the second business day before noon. FedEx 2Day – delivered the second business day before the end of the day. FedEx Express Saver – delivery depends upon location, but usually between 2-4 business days.

At a local FedEx facility means that your package has arrived at a local FedEx facility and is awaiting the next steps to move toward its final destination. If your package status is 'At a local FedEx facility': Your package is still on its journey.

How long does FedEx Express Saver shipping take? FedEx Express Saver shipping takes 3 business days. If you drop off your package on Monday, it'll be delivered on Thursday. Make sure you drop off before the shipping cutoff for your location so your package can be delivered on time.

If you missed your delivery, we'll leave a door tag for you. It has a number that's associated with your package's original tracking number and the steps you can take to locate your package.

FedEx will hold your package for up to 7 days for both FedEx Ground^® service and FedEx Express^® service before it's returned to the shipper. You'll need to bring your tracking number, government-issued photo ID, and your door tag number.

If you require a fast and reliable shipping option that delivers within one to two business days, then FedEx Express is your ideal choice. On the other hand, if you're shipping packages that are not time-sensitive and want them within 1 to 5 business days, FedEx Ground is perfect for you.

We'll reattempt to deliver your package the following day. Generally, we make deliveries from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday–Friday, and on Saturday and Sunday for residential deliveries.

Generally, FedEx requires a signature on all deliveries. However, we may be able to leave your package without a signature on the following conditions: - Have a suitable secure location to leave your package. - Your signature on the delivery attempt notice.

Shipments receive updates at various points in their journeys between pickup and delivery. The frequency of scans may vary and it is not unusual for a shipment that's on its way to go more than 24 hours without an update, especially during periods of long travel.

Why is my package staying in one spot? ›

Your package could be stuck in transit for many reasons: loss, damage, or even a USPS tracking system failure. More likely, though, the short-staffed US Post Office has misplaced, mislabelled, or simply overlooked your package.

You can monitor your incoming and outgoing packages throughout the entire delivery process and receive alerts and notifications. You can also call 1.800.GoFedEx 1.800.463.3339 and say “track my package.” Or text “follow” plus your door tag number to 48773.

Are FedEx delivery times accurate enough? FedEx is known for its reliable estimated mail delivery times, offering various service levels for different needs. While they strive for accuracy, occasional delays due to weather or high volumes may occur. FedEx provides tracking information to keep customers informed.

If you're the shipper and you want your package to arrive faster than the 2 day shipping time specified, sign in to your FedEx account or please call customer support to change your shipping speed. The shipping cost may be adjusted.

Your package will be held at the indicated location for 5 business days, after which time it may be returned to the shipper. You may request another delivery attempt by calling customer support.

In most cases, FedEx will attempt to deliver your package three times before returning it to the shipper. In case a courier is unable to leave your package, the courier will try to call you to check your availability and attempt the delivery.

If you're not home and your parcels won't fit through the letter box, or need a signature, posties will automatically redeliver the next working day. If nobody was in when we attempted to deliver something to your address, we'll leave a red 'something for you' card.

The driver will pick up the shipment. The driver will reattempt the delivery the same day if possible. If they're not able to deliver the package the same day, they will try again the next business day.
