Destiny 2’s Iron Banner is back, featuring exclusive weapons and armorand improvements to its rewards systems. Plus, on top of four Pinnacle rewards, Iron Banner also offers an armor set featuring an intrinsic perk and other rank bonuses.

Iron Banner schedule
Iron Banner returns to Destiny 2 for the first time this episode, July 2, 2024. It will be available to all players for two weeks, until July 16, 2024.

Return of Year 1 Iron Banner Ornaments

You can acquire these Year 1 Iron Banner Ornaments by focusing them at Lord Saladin’s in exchange for 3 Iron Engrams and 10,000 Glimmer per armor piece.
Be aware that you’ll need to spend Synthweave to use these as ornaments (which is a shame for those who actually earned the ornaments back in 2017).

An exclusive Iron Banner Exotic perk
Every armor piece of the Companion set comes with the following perk: Iron Lord’s Pride
Grants a chance to receive an Enhancement Prism as a reward at the end of Iron Banner matches. Each piece of armor you are wearing with this perk on it increases the chance of receiving an Enhancement Prism, to a maximum of 4 items.
Iron Banner is definitely looking up, with new weapons, armor, and exclusive armor perks.
60+ stat armor
Of all the sources of high-stat armor in the game, Iron Banner is one of the most reliable. Looking at all the Iron Banner armor pieces I have accumulated this past year, many had 62+ base stats. That may not sound like a lot, but it’s still better than most of the armor you’ll find elsewhere. More importantly, armor pieces with more than 62+ base stat points are quite common. This is all but one example:
Prime engrams can also drop 60+ stat armor pieces, but you cannot farm Prime engrams as directly as you can farm Iron Banner gear.
How to farm it: Iron Banner Challenges
Completing the four Daily Challenges is an excellent way to add the new weapons and armor set to the loot table, allowing you to farm them more easily. Therefore, I recommend you complete them before the end of the week.
Destiny 2 Iron Banner armor sets
Iron Banner armor generally comes with high-stat armor, but even if the sets you collected weren’t impressive stats-wise, they could still be useful now that Transmog is a thing.
